Plataforma de cultivo de microalgas

Canal 8 coverage on the Microalgae Cultivation Platform: “THE LIQUID TREE BORN IN MAR DEL PLATA”

The microalgae biomass production platform uses light energy through the process of photosynthesis to capture carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and convert it into biomass. This process helps reduce carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere, providing a mitigation solution for climate change.

Each installed photobioreactor can capture as much carbon as a 20-year-old tree and begins operating at full carbon-fixation capacity the day after installation. Currently, there are devices installed in the City of Buenos Aires, in the Belgrano neighborhood, visible at service stations, and we expect to see more in different locations starting next year.

These devices, pioneers in both Mar del Plata and Argentina, represent a significant achievement after decades of research. We are proud that they are now serving the community, providing tangible benefits.
