Abstract
Natural pigments are often stabilized using various types of protection systems, and one of the most interesting options is nanoclays. Nanoclay-based pigments show promise as dyes that can be in various forms, including printing inks, textiles, acrylic paints, concrete, and others. An important advantage of nanoclay-based pigments is their potential as an environmentally friendly alternative to contaminating colorants. This is in contrast to some traditional pigments that contain heavy metals in their structure. This chapter summarizes the most recent studies and provides insights into natural pigments from different sources trapped within nanoclays.
